I do know instruction is available and included in your stay. It gets hot in May and most play early. Not sure in Feb but no tee times required.
I personally would not bring my clubs. The ones provided are adequate but I would bring a few sleeves of balls, a glove, and tees as they charge a premium for those.
If your wife has never played, no reason to go to Runaway Bay. Most of the holes are par 3 there might be one or two shorter par 4's. Others will be patient with your play. If you feel pushed, offer others to play through.

That said, I've never played the course. Although I prepare every year, alcohol and such, plus sand gravity prevent.
